Course books provide teachers and learners a secure basis for lessons. However, if both parties are over dependent on their structure and content, lessons may become predictable and lifeless. This practical workshop will offer you the opportunity to engage with ways of using published material with greater variety, energy and depth.
Simon Marshall is a teacher trainer at York St John University. He has worked as an ELT teacher, trainer and academic manager for more than 40 years for various organisations, including Pilgrims, International House and the British Council. Simon is particularly interested in the principled application of Humanistic Approaches to language teaching and teacher development. He is also a keen etymologist and reader of philosophy and psychology.
