About MELTA News

Melta News is published three times a year, in spring, summer and late autumn, and is circulated to all MELTA members (approx. 280). The newsletter reflects the professional interests of the organization with articles on a broad range of ELT topics contributed by MELTA members.

A typical issue contains reviews of MELTA workshops and articles on topical and regional issues in the world of ELT. As one of the principle means of communication with the membership, there is always news from the committee, interviews with members and listings of upcoming events.

Article submissions can be short (~250 words), long (~650 words) or anywhere in between. You are also encouraged to submit book reviews, infographics, tips, brief summaries of interesting articles or events, interviews, philosophical musings, quotes — whatever you think might interest at least some of a diverse group of English teachers. Be creative! If you would like to contribute to Melta News but are unsure what to write about, just contact us, and we’ll find something together.

  • Please submit your article in Microsoft Word or compatible format.
  • Please submit pictures, illustrations, and tables as separate files and with a resolution of 300 dpi or above.
  • Don’t forget to add your biographical data (a picture and ~30 words about you).
  • The deadlines are 28 February, 30 June and 31 October.
