    Last year, one of my higher-level students told a great anecdote about buying a train ticket in England. The climax of the story was that the ticket wasn’t “guilty”. I hadn’t heard that false friend before…

    A lady joined a new group of mine once. It was a lower level and after listening in for some time she suddenly jumped up saying “I’m totally irritated” and ran out of the room. I hadn’t realized prior to that – irritiert in German means of course confused / puzzled.
